Boryeong, promoted to the city status in 1995, is neighboring with Hongseong to the north, Cheongyang and Buyeo to the east, Seochoen to the south, and the Yellow Sea to west. It occupies the 568.94 square kilometer, which accounts for the 6.6% of total territory of the south Chungcheog province. It has the 108,639 population with 1 town, 10 subcounties, and 5 dongs.
